ABSTRACT
Rapid advancements in wireless communication systems over the last several decades have led to various positive social and economic outcomes. To facilitate “connected things,” the 5G system shifts away from the “communication-oriented architecture” (COA) of previous generations and instead uses a “servicebased architecture” (SBA). The shift in emphasis from “connected things” to “connected intelligence” is what will distinguish 6G from prior generations of wireless technology. Fifth-generation communications standardization efforts are complete, and rollout has begun throughout the world. This paper discusses how to keep wireless networks competitive by introducing the next generation of wireless communication systems (specifically, 6G) that will serve as a basis for the stratification of future communication requirements.
